IFAAR has passionately been doing research since the 1990es in the field of semantics and computer based content analysis (CBCA). It started early doing basic research on search & find and developing new ground-breaking software classes and API's. All those activities have always been carried out in close cooperation with data-providers and universities in Switzerland and abroad. IFAAR has always also been engaged in educating and fostering independent and neutral scientific research in computer science and development and in mass media sciences.

On the other hand IFAAR has followed the idea of providing valuable independent, scientifically ascertainable and neutral evaluation data to various organisations and governments to support their online-activities with utmost effectiveness and efficiency. Among them are many public administrations, NGOs, NPOs all over the world.
